Cubit DB Error on login

Warning: pg_connect() [function.pg-connect]:
Unable to connect to PostgreSQL server: could not connect to server:
Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host localhost and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
Warning: pg_exec(): supplied argument is not a valid PostgreSQL link resource

This error means that the database server is not running.

If your clients Cubit is installed on Windows you can click
on Start -> Programs -> Cubit -> Server Start --- Check what error
is in the black box (If any)

Error 1069 -> this is resolved as follows:
(This error will be displayed in a black pop up screen in the start the server
screen)
To Resolve: Click on:
Control Panel- ->
Administrative Tools- ->
Computer Management- ->
Click + next to Local UsersGroups
(node on list at the left)- ->
Click on Users (node revealed by selecting Local UsersGroups)- ->
Double Click the postgres user on the list to
the right- ->Untick the User must change password at next logon
option.- ->
Tick the password never expires option.- ->
Click OK button.- -> Close everything opened during the course of
this explanation.- ->
Start Cubit Services again (Start -> Programs-> Cubit-> Server start)


Linux and Windows:
The most common reason for this was that there was a power failure
and now there is a lock file preventing the database from starting.
Linux: /usr/local/cubit/pgsql/data/postgres.pid
Windows: C:cubitdatapostgres.pid

ONLY if your database is NOT running can you delete the pid file
and restart the service (Windows - Start - Programs - Cubit - Server Start)
