Cubit Accounting and Payroll software is almost 9 years old and is stable, mature, reliable and in our vertical market versions (Property Software, HR Software, Manufacturing Software, etc.) there is almost all types of functions and functionalities that you can imagine.

That said, we offer to customise any of the 42 versions of Cubit Software (All with Advanced Accounting and Payroll) to suit your exact requirements. (Contact Cubit Accounting and Payroll)

Accounting and Payroll software requires frequent updates and maintenance as the system itself changes, grows and has to comply with Industry developments, regulations and legislation.

In order for Cubit to supply a business system that works properly we need to maintain and update our software a few times per year (between 2 and 4 updates, depending on the frequency of external change)

In order to produce these updates we need to be able to know the effect of database and program changes on your data.

Once there are changes to the database structure and/or program functionality, these changes affect the ability to install the general updates (Which are made for thousands of users) and Cubit will have to produce updates specifically for your system.

We produce an internal Application Programming Interface (API) where we track our own changes, additions and improvements, this enables us to produce updates for customised systems with low business risk

Then we have a customisation API, where all customisations are tracked in order for us to be able to produce lower cost updates for clients with customised systems. The production of updates on customised systems vary from time to time, depending on the external change. For example if the client has extensive changes to the stock system and the GAAP method for costing Inventory changes the costs to produce an update for that client could rival or exceed the initial system customisation costs.

At the end of the day though there are many costs to consider in the calculation TCO (Total cost of ownership) of any customised application and many of the costs are hidden costs that are sometimes difficult to pass along to the client without having quoted specifically to produce updates.

To this end we charge a base customisation fee, currently R25 000 which enables us to track your changes effectively in order to deliver future updates for your custom system at affordable rates.
